This Greek Revival Mansion on the shores of Seneca Lake is reportedly home to several ghostly residents. Tales of footsteps, doors slamming with extreme force, and mists rising from the kitchen floor surround the house and its history.
It’s been reported, though the story has never been proven, that a young couple perished while working on the house. The current owners of the property decided to create a wine in their honor, simply called Ghost. The front of the label features a silhouette of the Woman in White, while the back shows an image of the house, along with the fated couple reunited in an embrace. Look closely and you’ll see them on the porch. When a light is shone through the bottle, the silhouette from the front appears as a ghostly image over the mansion.
Those in the tasting room are very eager to share the tale of the tragic couple, and other experiences felt around the house. Stop in and visit – if you are brave enough, spend a night or two. Miles Wine Cellars has an inn, cafe, and the wine tasting room. They also host weddings and other catered events.
